纸包不住火 Paper Trails

This is a documentation of my FYP film. 纸包不住火 (directly translated as "paper cannot wrap fire") is a stop-motion film that portrays a young boy’s perspective on his time during the Malayan Emergency. With the persuasion of a paper origami bird, he wanders into a forest made of newspaper in hopes of finding his father, who has not been home for a long time. This venture resulted in the discovery of the untold atrocities committed during the Emergency. I co-directed this film and took on the roles of art director, set builder and animator.
